Flagler County Cultural Council Photo Contest Winners
The Flagler County Cultural Council is pleased to announce the winners of the 18th Annual Creekside Festival Student Photography Contest on October 8, 2023. Showcasing the selected photography works of Flagler Palm Coast High School students, submissions were viewed and voted on by attendees of the 2-day Creekside Festival to choose the prestigious People’s Choice Award. Exhibit entries offered a look at the diverse perspectives of students from across the community and included nature, history, culture, architecture, landscape and portrait photography. Leading the project for Flagler Palm Coast High School, Fine Arts instructor Angela Biggs expressed her appreciation for the continued support of the contest. “I am extremely proud of the FPC Advanced Photo students. They have worked so hard so far this year. Each student has a personal photographic “Area of Concentration” that they visually explore throughout the year,” said Biggs. “The arts make a significant contribution to education and help build positive connections with peers and support community involvement. A comprehensive arts program engages students in a process that helps them develop the self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation necessary for self-esteem and success for life.” “I want to thank the Flagler County Cultural Council for sponsoring this event for the creative FPC advanced photo students. Supporting the arts is so important to the community,” she said. 1st place – Elizabeth Vert 2nd place – Madison Gibbons 3rd place – Ja’bari Grimes 4th place – Brittney Willig Honorable Mention – Dalia Byrd People’s Choice Award: Madison Gibbons
